The width of each hole. For square holes it’s the width of the square; for slots, the width of the slot.
The distance from the centre of one hole to the centre of the next. A bigger pitch leaves more metal between the holes.
How much of the sheet is holes. More open area lets more light, air and sound through.
Sheet thickness. Thicknesses in green on the results are on the shelf.

Thickness and sheet sizes
Choosing the
right sheet
The hole pattern decides how the sheet looks, while the thickness and sheet size affect its strength, weight and how much cutting is needed. If you’re not sure, tell us what it’s for and we’ll suggest one.
Thickness
Corten patterns are 2mm thick. They are made to order.
Each pattern page lists every thickness it comes in and which ones are on the shelf.
Sheet sizes
Sheets come in three sizes, though not every pattern comes in all three. Buy them whole, as part sheets, or cut to your exact sizes.
Fewer cuts usually means less waste, so it’s worth telling us your finished sizes up front.
Open area
Open area is how much of the sheet is holes. More open area lets more light, air and sound through; less keeps the sheet stiffer and more private.
32%R3 T5Reading a code
R5 T8 means 5mm round holes on an 8mm staggered pitch. C means a square hole, U means holes in straight rows, and LR is a slot.

What thicknesses do you hold?
Our corten patterns are 2mm thick and made to order.
What sheet sizes are available?
Sheets are 2000 x 1000mm, 2500 x 1250mm or 3000 x 1500mm. We can cut part sheets or exact sizes from any of them.
Do you keep corten on the shelf?
No. Our corten patterns are made to order, and we can cut them to your sizes.
What grade is it?
Corten A, material number 1.8962 to EN 10025-5. The sheets are mechanically levelled and supplied with no surface treatment.
How quickly can I have it?
Corten is made to order, so we give you a delivery date when we price it.
Can you cut it to size?
Yes. Send us the sizes and quantities, or a drawing, and we will price the cutting with the material.
What do you need from me for a price?
The material, thickness, hole pattern, and the sizes and quantities you need. A drawing or cutting list helps for cut or folded parts. If you’re not sure of the pattern, send us a photo and we’ll help identify it.
