How is welded mesh measured?
By the distance between the wire centres, in inches. On a 1" x 1" mesh the wires are 25.4mm apart, centre to centre, so the clear gap is that less the thickness of one wire.
What does 10g or 16g mean?
It is the wire gauge. The lower the number, the thicker the wire: 22g is 0.71mm, 16g is 1.63mm, 12g is 2.64mm and 10g is 3.25mm.
What size are the sheets?
Most of our welded meshes come as full sheets 2440 x 1220mm. The ¼" x ¼" and the ½" x ½" in 10g wire come as 2500 x 1250mm.
Can you cut sheets to size?
Yes, if you need a different size we can cut sheets down. Full sheets are the quickest to send, so tell us the sizes when you ask for a price and we will tell you the best way to get them.
Which grades do you stock?
All nine meshes are stocked in stainless steel 304. The ½" x ½" 16g, 1" x 1" 10g and 2" x 2" 10g are also stocked in 316.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we deliver across the UK. Ring or email the sales office and we can check stock and price it with delivery. If you’re outside the UK, email us and we’ll let you know if we can help.
