About 8055G expanded pre-galvanised steel
8055G is flattened expanded pre-galvanised steel with a 8 x 6mm diamond and 1.25mm strands. We keep it in stock here in Bristol, 0.7mm thick, in 2500 x 1250mm sheets. Every sheet can be cut to size while you wait, and stock sheets go out on next working day delivery anywhere in the UK.
Flattened or raised?
Raised expanded metal is left as it comes off the expanding press, so the strands sit at an angle to the sheet. Flattened expanded metal is rolled after expanding, so the strands lie flat and the sheet has a smooth surface. 8055G is flattened.
What do LWD and SWD mean?
LWD is the long way of the diamond and SWD is the short way, both measured centre to centre. The strand is the width of the metal between the openings.
