About 3815S

3815S is raised expanded 304 stainless steel with a 38.1 x 16.5mm diamond and 1.91mm strands, giving 77% open area. We keep it in stock, 1.5mm thick, in 2500 x 1250mm sheets.

Flattened or raised?

Raised expanded metal is left as it comes off the expanding press, so the strands sit at an angle to the sheet. Flattened expanded metal is rolled after expanding, so the strands lie flat and the sheet has a smooth surface. 3815S is raised.

What do LWD and SWD mean?

LWD is the long way of the diamond and SWD is the short way, both measured centre to centre. The strand is the width of the metal between the openings.
